ABOUT me

Hi! I'm Yael,
Creative conceptual photographer. In my world, the objects that surround us don't have to remain what they are; they change, transform, and carry part of their essence with them to acquire new meanings.
In my images, there are two priorities balanced on a scale: on the one hand, the message, the concept, the why, and on the other, the aesthetic: clean, pure, free of all visual burdens, because if there's one thing I enjoy about my images, it's that they give you wings to fly as free as you want to be.
More about me and my work:
I was born in León in 1991. At 16, by chance, I held an analog SLR in my hands for two days. I can't say why, but even without much idea of what I was doing, pressing the shutter felt like a crucial moment, nervous and at the same time surprisingly natural.
I didn't own a SLR until I was 25, and since photographic training was beyond my reach when I started, I considered myself self-taught. Over time, I've come to realize that this term is almost never used fairly. I certainly wasn't.
I started learning from scratch from great and generous photographers who have offered and continue to offer their knowledge altruistically, especially everything about Rebelado thanks to Antonio Prado on his processingraw channel, or the tireless source of information from the podcasts of Mario Rubio (academia de fotógrafos) or Jota Barros (calle oscura). When I had a bit more financial resolve, I improved my technical knowledge from Pablo Gil, a great food and product photographer, or
Christian Colmenero, a super expert in lighting techniques and studio work, and, even better, one of those people who breathe photography through and through. Also, those people who inspire me and whose work has motivated me to improve and discover my own path: Paloma Rincón's use of color, Dina Belenko's creativity and magic, the creation of a world of Tanaka Tatsuya's own or the intelligence and purity of Chema Madoz's work.
All these people, and many more, have contributed to my development, and that's why it's now, and not before, that I consider myself self-taught. Self-taught in my own photographic world, where each photograph is born from a feeling, a reflection, something that swirls around in my head, that inhabits my mental clouds until it condenses into an image. I hope, in this world I've created, you find even one image that makes you feel what would take 1,000 words to express.
